St. John Lutheran School teaches Physical Education to equip children in being good stewards of their bodies by developing skills, coordination, fitness, and teamwork for life long service to the Lord. Our mission is to improve the fitness levels of every child that enters our classroom, encourage them to make fitness a priority in their lives, and teach them to care for their body as a way to honor God.

The President's Challenge Program |
Every year, the students at St. John Lutheran School participate in The President's Challenge Program. The Program encourages all children to make being active part of their everyday lives. No matter what the activity or fitness level of a student, the President's Challenge can help motivate any child to improve. The children participate in cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, agility, and muscular strength challenges. This includes the mile run, sit n reach, shuttle run, and push up tests. The students are tested at the beginning of the year and again during the last quarter of school. The students evaluate their improvement from the beginning of the year to the end and can receive National or Presidential awards according to the President's Challenge criteria. The President's Challenge Program is a great way to motivate children to life an active lifestyle. | |
