Welcome to 1st grade! This is an exciting year of growth and new discoveries. Every child enters 1st grade with different academic strengths and weaknesses. Wherever your child is academically, he/she will be growing this year! It is my job to keep them challenged and on their own track of learning. My goal is for them to enjoy each day and know that LEARNING CAN BE FUN!!!!


At St. John, we also have the wonderful opportunity to teach children about the forgiveness and love of Christ. Our school’s Bible verse theme for the year is 1 Peter 3:15, “But set Christ apart as Lord in your hearts and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you possess.” Since we are God’s children, we not only have Christ inside us, but His love also overflows into our outward behavior. The 1st graders will know that they are children of God and are forever changed because of it! While receiving a Christian education at St. John, they will become equipped with the armor of God and be able to share the hope we have in Christ with confidence and joy.
