Choir at St. John Lutheran
These choirs serve in school chapels and many worship services of the congregation during the academic year as well as the school’s Advent services and the spring Fine Arts Festival. They also have had the opportunity to be a part of a variety of off-campus events, including recording for a nationally broadcast program for shut-ins, singing at the 2008 LEA Convocation, the Illinois State Capital, concerts, athletic events, and other community services.
Boys' and Girls' Choir
The Boys’ & Girls' Choir of St. John, established in 2002, is open to all students in the school in grades five through eight. During the school year the boys rehearse twice a week: Monday and Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir of St. John is open to all children of the church and school in grades two through four. This chorus rehearses once a week on Tuesday from 3:20 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. September through May. Mrs. Rebecca Litfin is the director.
Classroom Choir Grades 1-4
As a part of their musical instruction at St. John Lutheran School, all students in grades one through four receive choral training and sing as a class. Rehearsal are part of the regular school day.
