    Mrs. Gretchen Scheel

Welcome to 3 year old preschool
where each day is a gift of fun and discovery!
I recognize the amazing growth our young ones are ready for and so my students and I fill our days with laughter, learning, friendship and most of all Jesus! Preschoolers learn without even realizing it. While they are painting, building, singing, playing, reading stories, running, creating and praying, they are also learning about colors, balance, rhyme, sharing, coordination, listening, self-expression, faith and so much more. It is pure blessing to spend my days exploring the world with the joy and wonder of my preschoolers.
Let me share just a little about myself. I grew up in a large close knit family in Batavia where I am now raising my three children with the help of my wonderful husband Craig. I began my career after completing my bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education and completed additional coursework to be certified for Early Childhood Special Education. I have more than 5 years of early childhood teaching experience and 8 years of parenting experience both of which have given me a wealth of knowledge about children.
I am so grateful for the way God uses His wonderful, unique children to teach me about the beauty of His creation. I have been at St. John Church for more than a decade and have found here a church family filled with love and faith. Teaching in this fantastic preschool program and leading our Sunday School Department is a tremendous blessing to me. I am excited about the opportunity to share with your child the amazing blessings Jesus has given us.
I realize the trust it takes to put your precious child in my care and I strive to show my students the love, kindness and patience that Jesus shows each of us. I pride myself in establishing exceptional parent-teacher communication. I love to share with you all the fun things your child will be doing in school so that you are able to build on those experiences with your child at home. Watch for newsletters to let you know all about our theme, bible lessons, and songs, Friday Book Reviews so that you and your child can sit and chat about the special story books we have shared during the week and class books we make ourselves to reinforce special activities. I welcome parent involvement in the classroom and enjoy meeting with you for our mid-year parent/teacher conferences.
Thank you for sharing your child with me and for giving them the gift of a loving Christ-filled preschool experience.

Mrs. Gretchen Scheel

He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." Mark 9:36-37
