St. John is ideally located across from Adams Park and the public library in downtown Wheaton.

* an up-to-date computer lab and classroom computers with internet access
* before-school care starting at 7:30 a.m.
* after-school care until 6:00 p.m.

* a dedicated science lab
* daily hot lunch prepared on-site

Parent Involvement |
At St. John we will work with you in every aspect of your child's education. Our parents are actively involved in the school community, from volunteering in the classroom to chaperoning field trips. A dedicated Parent-Teacher League supports students, parents and teachers through fund raising, service projects, special events, teacher recognition and school improvement. |

Admissions |
St. John Lutheran School is open to parents who wish their children to have a Christ-centered education. St. John has an open enrollment process. Applications are available at the school office or on the Church web site. Applications may be turned in at any time with a $50 non-refundable application fee. Please call for current tuition rates.
We follow the Wheaton District 200 calendar for vacations and holidays. |

Our School |
St. John Lutheran School is a ministry of St. John Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.
St. John has provided outstanding early childhood and Kindergarten through eighth-grade programs to the surrounding community for over 50 years. Our programs are designed to partner with parents as they nurture and educate their children. |

Student Activities |
Students participate in a wide variety of co-curricular activities including weekly chapel worship, choir, band, church service projects, school newspaper, Battle of the Books competitions, science fair, geography and spelling bees, athletics (cross country, volleyball, basketball, track, cheerleading), chess club and Student Council. |

Standardized Testing |
St. John students consistently score above national norms on standardized achievement tests. Second through eighth grade students are assessed in the spring of each year using the Stanford Achievement Test. |

Community Activities |
Special trips highlight the school year for all grades. Visits to the Chicago Symphony, Nutcracker Ballet, Springfield, and Morton Arboretum are a few of these experiences. Teachers enhance units of study by including cultural and academic field experiences in the curriculum. Sixth graders also look forward to a week of outdoor education at Walcamp in northern Illinois and a visit to the Challenger Space Program every fall. |
