Welcome to St. John Lutheran School

For over 50 years St. John Lutheran Church has supported a Christian school ministry in Wheaton. Our most important goal is to save and nourish souls by fostering an active faith life where Jesus Christ is integral to the well-being of the child and family. We do that in an atmosphere of love and care so that children are challenged in their academic development and encouraged to use their God-given gifts and talents. Here you will find a highly qualified staff who model Christ’s love by example and nurture children spiritually, academically, socially and emotionally.

We partner with parents and family to prepare children for the world in which they will eventually take their place to serve the Lord faithfully in every circumstance.

May God bless you and your family as you seek the best educational opportunity for your child. We are eager to share with you in person what the St. John experience offers. Please contact us for more information or a personal tour.

Dear Friends:

At St. John we have a school because we care not only about your child's body and mind, but also about your child's soul. There are all sorts of ways to talk about this, of course. Try this: our goal is to make disciples and make them stronger. Or this: we believe in spiritual formation, including the value of discipline and obedience. Or this, perhaps: acts of mercy, words of witness, and care of the soul matter to us, and so we aim to model, teach, and give opportunity for these to flourish. In all things we hope, as Luther once said, to teach our students to be little Christs to one another. None of this comes automatically. It happens only because we intentionally and tangibly apply Jesus to your child just the way that Jesus told us to do it, through his Word and Sacrament. Forgiven by his gifts, we are free to live in love for God and others. Putting the Spirit of Christ into our students is the way of getting the love of God out of them, a divine love that manifests itself as mercy, witness, care, obedience, discipline and growth. And so we have come full circle. Our Church has a school not just for academic excellence, but most importantly to save and nourish souls. We hope that you and your children choose to share that spiritual journey with us. Joy!
