The mission of St. John Lutheran Preschool is to build a caring community of young learners, in a safe nurturing environment of age appropriate play, organized activities and progressive learning experiences which help the young child to grow socially, emotionally, spiritually, academically and physically doing all to the glory of God.

Accreditation
St. John is fully accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Association. St. John is fully recognized by the State of Illinois and the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Our goal is to observe, facilitate, and enhance the growth of each child as he develops socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, academically, and spiritually.

Our objectives are:
1. To lead children to Jesus Christ so that they may learn to know, trust, and believe in Jesus as their Savior.
2. To help children learn to conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to God.
3. To help children explore their creative abilities.
4. To help children gain a feeling of security, happiness, and well being in relationships with playmates, teachers, and parents.

The Preschool program operates from August through June. Future class offerings:

Three-year-olds: T/TH 8:30-11:00 a.m.
Multi-Age Older Threes and Four-Year-Olds: M/W/F 8:30-11:20 a.m.
Four/Five-year-olds: M/T/W/TH/F 8:30-11:30 a.m.; M/W/F 12:15-3:15 p.m.

Class size is limited to 14 children in the three-year-old class and up to 18 in the 4/5-year-old classes. These classes have a teacher and one teacher assistant.

T/TH mornings 3-year-old Preschool
2.5 hour session - 8:30am-11:00am (limit of 14)
$150 a month (10 months billing)

M/W/F mornings 3/4 Multi-age Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten
2.75 hour session - 8:30am-11:20am (limit of 14)
$240 a month (10 months billing)

M/T/W/TH/F mornings 4/5-year-old Pre-Kindergarten
3 hour session - 8:30am-11:30am (limit of 18)
$340 a month (10 months billing)

M/W/F afternoons 4/5-year-old Pre-Kindergarten
3 hour session - 12:15pm-3:15pm (limit of 18)
$240 a month (10 months billing)

An application fee of $75 is required per family enrolling their child(ren) for preschool or pre-kindergarten. The fee should be included with the completed application form. Please return the application and fee payment to the main school office in person or via the mail.
