Video Game Creation Camp at St. John Lutheran School

New for 2010! Starting with basic commands, campers ages 8-15 will be taught, in a step-by-step progression how to build a game that they design. Camp begins with an introduction to Game Maker software including adding rooms, building walls, adding backgrounds, warping to new levels, music, sound effects and many other great techniques. The first few days focus on the basics, thru teaching the basics of the software. Later in the week the children are well on they’re way to creating their own unique game. At the end of camp the children receive a copy of their games and each has their own software license. From there they can continue to play and develop his or her game. They also have the tools and knowledge necessary to create new ones as well. Finally, each child will be given a t-shirt, trophy and a certificate of accomplishment with a group photo.
