My name is Tonda Boutan and I'm the Reading Specialist and 6th Grade Language Arts teacher at St. John. I have a Master's degree in Reading from Northern Illinois University and I am certified as a Reading Specialist K-12. Teaching at St. John is a real joy for me. My 30 years of teaching experience include kindergarten through eighth grade, and reading is my passion. I love seeing children grow in their faith and become skilled readers and writers. My goal as a teacher is to help children develop strategies so that they become lifelong learners and discover how much fun reading can be. I strive to create a classroom community where each individual is supported and finds delight in growing and learning.
My husband Randy and I have two daughters; Katlynn is a senior in college and Chelsey is a junior in high school. My hobbies include reading, photography and gardening.
I know first hand how fast children grow, so savor this year with your child. It is a privilege for me to be able to share God's love with His children at St. John. |
